How we support children with SEND

SEND and Inclusion

SEND Co-ordinator - Mrs Lisa Kingston

Sherston C of E Primary School is committed to providing a high quality education for all the children in our school. We believe that all children have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to them, with reasonable adjustments, so they can be included in all aspects of school life.

We have high expectations of all children and their progress is checked regularly. Where there are concerns, they are discussed in order to move children on in their learning, together. In addition, concerns may be raised by pupils, teachers or parents/carers and we will endeavour to work in partnership to address these.

The LA Local Offer

  • The Children and Families Bill became law in June 2014. From this date, Local Authorities and schools are required to publish and keep under review information about services they expect to be available for the children and young people with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) aged 0-25. This is the ‘Local Offer’.

  • The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and transparency for families. It will also be an important resource for parents in understanding the range of services and provision in the local area The Wiltshire local offer can be found on the website:

For any queries about Wiltshire’s SEND Service or information about supporting children and young people with SEND please call the Single point of contact (SPOC) 01225 757985.
