Environment Area : Pond

Something of interest all year round; come and see our pond! Built in 2010 by parents, children and the environment area group team, and maintained by KS2 children and the EAG team. We have frogs, newts, damsel flies, beautiful dragonflies and lots more breeding in our water amongst the bullrushes, water irises and many other plants. The Cotswold Wardens did a wonderful job at the beginning, clearing the land on the verge of Sopworth Road, handing over to Paul Bridgeman who excavated the pond. Then the Wardens came back to build a dry stone wall. The school is grateful to the many who have donated time, money and materials, to give us this wonderful resource and educational literature to help teach children the wonders of life at the pond.
