Watch this You Tube video from the BBC as an introduction to the Ancient Maya.
If you want, present what you have learnt.
The Theme is 'Spring'.
Create a powerpoint or photo video (if you have the technology) on the theme of Spring. Be as creative as you like - take photos, use internet pictures, include text if you want.
If we were at school, this art activity would probably take up to 2 or 3 lessons so don't feel like you need to complete this in one go.
The Maya had a great tradition of detailed art work. Take a look at the powerpoint, the images sheet and then look at the examples of art work done by previous children.
Choose one image to try and recreate - look carefully at the detail and add colour to your art work using a medium of your choice. Make sure that any colouring uses solid colour (last year's Chestnut class called this the pencil crayon killer as they sharpened their pencil so often) - no scribbly or faint colouring.
