Week 4 (Mon 25 - Fri 29)

Monday 25th January - Burns Night

Today we are taking a break from our work on Greek myths and will look instead at some work based on Burns Night, which fall on the 25th January every year.

On Burns Night, people in Scotland and Scots around the world celebrate the life and works of the poet Robert Burns, who wrote using his Scots accent and dialect.

You will find out more in the reading comprehension below. You can choose your own level of challenge, but I would expect most of you to aim for the 2 star challenge or above.

I've also included a little challenge activity to match up some Scots words with their Standard English equivalents. Beware, you may have to google some of these!

Finally, an optional extra: A recipe for traditional Scots shortbread.

If you do have a go at this, I'd love to see a photo of your biscuits.

Tuesday 26th January
Today we are back with some Greek stories/myths. We are going to work on our summarising skills to help with planning later in the week.
