Lots of little things make a big difference

In this challenging economic climate that all schools are facing, the funds raised by groups like the FSS are more vital than ever. But without people giving a little of their time to a great cause, the FSS wouldn’t exist. We really appreciate how busy life is so even if you can only spare an hour now and then, every little really does help.

So, how can you get involved?

Join the committee!

The FSS Committee is a great team to be part of. We're all busy parents but we share a common goal of wanting our children to get as much out of their primary school years as they can.

It's incredibly rewarding to know that the money raised from an that we've organised is making a direct difference to the educational experience of our children. The activities are also always lots of fun organise!

The Committee is made up of trustees and roles including Treasurer, Secretary and Grants Application Manager. We work with the school to plan our calendar of events and are supported by a core group of volunteers which include our class representatives to make these events happen.

Digital Communications Manager

Responsibilities include:

• Writing new copy for the FSS pages on the Sherston Primary School website and FSS social media accounts and ensuring they remain current and accurate
• Using social media to raise awareness of and promote FSS fundraising activities

Useful skills to have:

• Enjoys writing copy
• Good attention to detail

Help out at FSS events

Upcoming events are promoted by our class representatives through class What's App groups and through ParentMail, as well as on our Facebook page. The FSS is supported by a core group of volunteers but we are always looking for extra help with tasks such as selling raffle tickets or helping out on the day of our events. Business Sponsorship

In addition to the money raised through ticket sales and event activities, we also benefit from the generous support of local businesses who provide donations for our raffles and auctions, as well as valuable sponsorship.

Easyfundraising is a portal you can use to shop at lots of websites including John Lewis, Argos, M&S, Nike, Boden, Gap and many more. Just go to these websites via your Easyfundraising account and the FSS will receive a donation when you shop.
