  • Christmas at Sherston Primary School

Wed 18 Dec 2019 Mr Moran

We have had a fantastic time over Christmas here at Sherston.

We started off the week with our lovely Christingle service at the church, led by Becky and enjoyed by all. (Especially the staff after the candles had been blown out! Phew!)

On Tuesday morning, we had the EYFS Nativity which was created by the children and involved a lot of imagination, clear voices, great acting and beautiful singing.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Years 1 & 2 put on another successful Nativity, which many parents described as 'the best they've seen'! We had standout performances, great singing and a fantastic chance for the children to shine.

Then on Wednesday, we had our Christmas Lunch which was delicious as usual and featured, for the first time, some environmentally friendly Christmas crackers which KS2 made for the rest of the school.

As the term finishes on Thursday 19th December, we'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.

  • Reverse Advent

Wed 11 Dec 2019 Mr Moran

Eliza in Rowan Class was inspired to support one of our local charities and approached us with a great suggestion:

Her idea was that instead of children receiving something for each day of Advent, why didn't they give something? She suggested that each day children could bring in an item to go to Malmesbury & District Food Bank. She and her mum set up a large hamper in the corridor and the children have been bringing in items to fill it each day. It's already nearly full and we aren't even halfway through Advent yet!

Thank you all very much for your generosity, and thank you Eliza for bringing us such a lovely idea.

  • Cross Country Festival at Malmesbury School

    Fri 06 Dec 2019

On Thursday 21st November, some children from Years 3,4,5 and 6 took part in the cross country event at Malmesbury Secondary School. All of the children that represented the school performed amazingly and they should be very proud of themselves.

A special mention goes to George who came 1st in his category and Ottilie who came 3rd in her category.

Well done to all the children who took part!

    Mrs Berry and Miss Duddridge
