  • Y4 PGL 2022

    Our Y4 pupils had a fantastic time at their PGL residential in October. They enjoyed lots of outdoor adventures from abseiling, aeroball and orienteering to zip wiring and campfire activities. Highlights included the climbing wall, where all the children challenged themselves and loved it, and archery, where a few budding Robin Hoods were spotted! 

  • Friendship Week 2022

    We've been celebrating Friendship Week over the last week of term. The children have been playing lots of team-building games and had circle time activities on the themes of ‘resolving conflict’, ‘what makes a good friend’ and ‘sharing acts of kindness’. Different year groups have come together to share books, play board games and outdoor games. And this afternoon we've had a whole school movie and each class has come dressed in a ‘class colour’ to celebrate coming together as team.

  • Chestnut & Willow classes Chedworth Roman Villa Trip

    As part of their topic on ‘Raging Romans!’ our Y3, 4 and 5 pupils enjoyed a day out to Chedworth Roman Villa this term with a guided tour of the villa and mosaic making workshop.  

  • FSS Quiz Night 2022

    A massive thank you to the FSS and everyone from the wider community involved in organising and running this incredible fundraising event. And huge thanks also to all you quizzers for your support and generosity, which has resulted in the fantastic fundraising total of £1,800+ being raised to support the school.

  • Harvest Festival in Church & foodbank collection

    We had a wonderful morning celebrating Harvest Festival in Church this term. Thank you to Becky Fisher for a lovely service. We were treated to Oak and Rowan class performing ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’, along with Harvest prayers from Chestnut class and Harvest poems from Willow class all written by the children. Sycamore class talked about the vital work of the Malmesbury and District Foodbank. Thank you to all our families for donating items for our collection to support this important local charity

  • Crabapple collecting for a great cause

    Drum roll please….. the final total of crab apples collected for Tracklements is….. a whopping 704KG! This is an incredible amount so thank you to everyone who collected over the month of September. Sherston School and Sherston youth groups receive 50p for every KG collected plus a further 25p for every jar sold nationwide.

  • Y3 & Y4 Tag Rugby Festival

    Well done to all our Y3 and Y4 pupils who took part in the Inter Schools Tag Rugby Tournament at Minety Rugby Club this term. We are so proud of you all, especially for your fantastic fun-filled team spirit! 

  • Friends of Sherston School Castle Combe Bike Ride

    Over 100 children and adults cycled, scooted, walked, ran and even roller skated around the 3km Castle Combe Race Circuit raising nearly £600 for the school! Thank you to the FSS for organising this fantastic fundraiser and everyone who took part, and to Castle Combe for the use of the race track.  
     

  • Welcoming our new Reception class 2022

    It’s been lovely welcoming back all our children and families, along with our new reception class and pupils across the year groups who joined us this term. Our focus school value for the Autumn term has been ‘Friendship’ which feels perfectly fitting as our children have been enjoying coming back together with old friends and making new ones.
