Welcome to Year 5/6!
This term we begin our topic work by honing our geographical skills and knowledge around a question which is of increasing importance: How is Climate Change affecting the world?
The class will have opportunities to make judgements as to the impact on people of changing weather patterns and understand how as individuals, members of families and communities such as schools they can make a contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
PE days this term are Mondays and Fridays - please come to school in appropriate school PE kit.
Homework (Y6 only)
In preparation for the transition to secondary school, where they will need to be more self-sufficient and organised, the Y6 students have homework to complete beyond the school's expectation that they will read at home. It is set on Mondays and due in on Thursdays - there is no homework book, instead children need to develop the independence and organisational skills to make sure tasks are completed and brought to school on time. Homework will sometimes take the form of Mathletics tasks (if there are issues around accessing this at home please let me know and we can make other arrangements).
