Our Vision is for Sherston School to be a joyful school community
where children are happy, curious and inspired
that nurtures in our children the confidence and courage to make positive choices and the ambition to thrive
in which everyone treats others with kindness and respect
that provides an inclusive, friendly and safe environment in which every child can achieve
We aim to achieve this by:
having excellent staff who provide a stimulating and challenging learning environment
developing our children spiritually, emotionally and physically as well as academically

John "Rattlebone"
Our school logo represents the legendary local hero and Captain of the militia - John Rattlebone who, in 1016 alongside King Eadmund Ironside battled the Danes led by King Canute over a period of 2 days in the hills nearby. Badly wounded, Rattlebone is said to have valiantly fought on eventually overpowering King Canute who retreated to London. As a reward for his valour, Rattlebone was given the manor of Sherston and associated lands by the mayor. His determination and courage are reflected in our school values.
