FSS fundraising events provide us with a great opportunity to raise money for Sherston School. On this page, you can find out about upcoming events as well as find out about money that was raised from past events.

Upcoming Events

We have a whole host of Christmas events planned throughout December. 

For those who are unfamiliar with our events, here are some additional details about three of our main Christmas events to explain what you and the children can expect. 

Sunday 1st and 8th December

Swim Disco - Y4, Y5 & Y6 Children
We run this event at the Malmesbury Activity Zone. 


Great fun for the children to swim with their friends with disco music on! After swimming they will get a snack and drink supplied by the FSS.


Drop off at 2.20pm, swim start time 2.30pm, pick up is 3.45pm. 


The cost for this event is £8, with tickets available via ParentPay.
 

Friday 6th December

Secrets Room - for all classes!
This is a yearly favourite for the children at Sherston Primary. 


The FSS transforms the School Hall into the Secrets Room, turning it into a mini gift shop with tables covered in lovely presents for all ages. The children will go into the Secrets Room one class at a time during school hours and choose to buy a surprise gift for mums, dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends or anyone else!


The child then takes their chosen gift to a member of the FSS to have it wrapped up and labelled. The child then takes the gift home to put it under the Christmas tree ready for the big day!


The cost for this event is £5 per gift, with a maximum of 3 gifts per child (£15). Tickets available via ParentPay.



Thursday 19th December
Movie Night - Reception, Y1, Y2 & Y3 Children
When school finishes at 3.10pm, the children will go into the Hall and be given some snacks and a drink. They then can choose a place to sit and settle down, the lights will then go down and the movie will begin! 


We ask for Oak class parents to attend with their child.


The cost for this event is £6 per child which includes the snacks and drink. Tickets available via ParentPay.

Friday 20th December

Y6 Tuck Shop - all classes

Sycamore class will be selling sweets and other treats at 3.10pm on the last day of term, Friday 20th December. The idea for a tuck shop fundraiser came from the school council and the FSS were asked to help make it happen.

Over the course of the remaining school year, each class will get a chance to organise their own fundraiser. In this way, children and parents can work together to raise some funds for school.

The cost for this tuck shop will be £2 per sweet treat. Cash or card payments.

Past Events

Our recent quiz night in April raised a fantastic £1860! The evening provided great fun for all - lots of laughs, happy faces and full tummies courtesy of "We Meat Again" burgers. Thanks to all involved in helping to raise these valuable funds for the school.

In February, we put on a movie night and Valentine's Day pop-up shop which raised £328 and £137 respectively.

In December 2023, we organised a Christmas raffle followed by a Christmas Fair held at the school. The raffle alone raised £1400 and the Fair raised £900.

In June 2023, the annual Olympic Day event raised £2740 and the quiz which took place in April 2023 raised a total of £1950.  

All of these funds have contributed towards the cost of classroom resources and educational equipment as well as supporting the cost of class trips.

In addition to the money raised through ticket sales and event activities, we also benefit from the generous support of local businesses who provide donations for our raffles and auctions, as well as valuable sponsorship.
