Musical Instrument Tuition

The school currently has 2 peripatetic musical instrument tutors, both have been DBS checked and visit the school on a weekly basis. There are usually 6 lessons per term, but this of course depends on the number of weeks within the term. Lessons take place within the school day and are chargeable.

Each tutor is responsible for their own administration so if your child would be interested in taking up an instrument you should contact them direct. Details are as follows:

Spaces may be limited due to commitments with other schools but it is likely that all tutors will operate a waiting list.

Woodwind (Clarinet/Flute/Oboe/Recorder/Saxophone/Bassoon)

Tutor: Mrs Angela Williams

Guitar / Ukelele

Tutor: Mr Jonathan Dunn

email: or call 07545 972766

Mr Dunn is a guitar teacher with over 10 years experience in teaching to all levels and styles.  He has been at Sherston School since September 2015.

Each lesson is tailored to the student's needs and interests with the student being able to learn by grade, or pick and choose from a wide range of material and genres.

Beginner students will quickly learn how to play with a solid technique, and with the use of dedicated exercises will soon master their first songs. Intermediate students will build upon their existing skills, improving both their technique and knowledge by learning new chords, scales, and songs. Carefully chosen exercises will be used to rapidly improve these skills.
