  • Y3 / Y4 Production - Dragon Days

    Wed 21 Mar 2018

This week Beech class and Chestnut class gave two fantastic performances of Dragon Days. Everyone worked hard as a team to produce the best possible performance about the alpine village of Stumbledorf and what turned out to be the friendly dragon, Gawaine. I am immensely proud of all the children involved. The acting and singing was excellent and I hope that everyone that came to watch enjoyed the performance. Thank you to parents for the fantastic costumes and everyone who helped with props and scenery. An extra special well done for Evelyn and Amelie and their amazing solos. Well done everyone!

  • Birch Class Assembly - The Smartest Giant In Town

    Thu 08 Mar 2018

It was Birch Classes turn to do their Class Assembly this term.

The children performed 'The Smartest Giant in Town' by Julia Donaldson which is this term's Topic and also links to this term's Value of Compassion.

The children all looked fantastic in their costumes (Thanks Mums and Dads!) and the props were all brilliant (Thank you Miss Linda and Mrs Ormiston!).

The Narrators all read beautifully with clear, loud voices and the Actors all deserved Oscars! The singing was great too. A special mention must go to Ben P who did a great job as George the Giant, changing clothes in record time!

Thank you to our parents/carers in the audience who helped make this such a special experience for the children. Well done Birch Class, you are all Superstars!

  • Westonbirt Cross Country - Wednesday 21st February

    Thu 01 Mar 2018

On a cold, but sunny, afternoon forty children from Key Stage 2 headed over to Westonbirt School for the annual cross country running.

There were eight races in total and Sherston was represented in every category. Each race had over 50 children in it and some of the categories had many more. There were eighteen schools taking part from as far afield as Bath and Bristol. Years 3 and 4 had to run 1500m and years 5 and 6 had to run 2200m. Every child finished their run and they should all be extremely proud of this achievement.

It was impossible to record everyone’s final positions but the top three Sherston children in each race are recorded below.
