We’ve had a wonderful week learning about Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Hinduism as part of our World Religions theme week. Thank you to Becky Fisher and Revd. Adam Beaumont for our visits to Sherston Holy Cross Church to learn about prayer and spirituality. The children also enjoyed workshops with REonDemand exploring fasting and pilgrimage in Islam and tasting Asian food, learning about the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, the Hindu festival of Diwali and much more. Thank you to Cathy Lightowler at REonDemand for these inspiring sessions. And thank you to Miss Corrick for organising this week and the FSS for funding it!
We had a lot of fun in the sun taking our class and whole school photos last week. Thank you to Tea Smart Photography for giving us a drone’s eye view of our beautiful school grounds and village....and to Ffion & Andrew Hibbard for kindly providing their tractor for a new angle on our whole school photo!
Following a week of SATs Sycamore class enjoyed a well-earned day of all things pop and rock at their Eurovision Party yesterday. They created their own bands, dressed up, composed and performed their very own Eurovision songs, competed in a Eurovision quiz, party games and more!
A big thank you to all our families for your Rags 2 Riches 4 Schools donations yesterday. And thank you to our fantastic Friends of Sherston School for organising this. We raised £209 for the school and sent 418kg to Ukraine.
Our wonderful Friends of Sherston School have lined up lots of fun filled fundraising events for next term including the famous Castle Combe Bike Ride (12th June) and Olympics Day (1st July) events to name a few! All the details coming out via ParentMail and our Facebook page.
A huge thank you to our wonderful Sherston School families and the wider community for coming along to our Coronation Procession today to cheer on the children – it really made their day. Thank you to Miss Harrison and Mrs Berry for organising our fantastic Procession & Ceremony. Take a look at our Gallery for highlights from the day. A big thank you to Tea Smart for capturing these special moments for us. And well done to all our children for putting on such a good show. As always they were a credit to themselves and we couldn’t be prouder. Wishing you all a very special Coronation weekend – happy celebrating!
As part of our celebrations to mark The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort, on Friday 5th May we will be holding our own Sherston School Coronation. Our celebrations will start with a Coronation Procession along the High Street at 9.10am. It would be lovely to see as many of our families and the wider community as possible lining the way to cheer on the children – we hope to see you there!
